Product API

As retail sites have evolved, one of the most impactful user experience improvements has been the ability to compare and contrast different versions of the same product on a single product page.

The Product Option Select Container already provides some of this functionality but it does not allow for mixing and matching different dimensions like size and color.

In an effort to provide this enhanced capability, we are now granting access to our Product API, which returns data about any particular product, including inventory status.

Now build product pages as dynamically as you like by accessing the necessary data from the DCP to present the information required.

If you opt to stick with using the Product Option Select Container, note that it now includes the option of omitting product variants that are unorderable.

• Where can we use this on our website?

  Although the Product API is accessible from any page that contains the DCP Javascript snippet, this particular use case applies to product pages with variants and exists alongside theProduct Offer Containers.

• How do we add this to our website?

  Since this requires a bit of technical know-how, please direct your development team to this page in our documentation.

• Why an API and not a feature?

  Unfortunately, given the complexity and variety of implementation approaches, we cannot provide a simple “plug-and-play” version of this feature.
